Our Story

HCR was founded in 2007 by a team of senior corporate practitioners with deep roots in Malaysia's banking, aviation, and Big 4 consulting sectors. After decades working inside large organisations, the founding team saw a clear gap — Malaysian organisations needed senior HR thinking they could trust, not imported templates from firms that did not understand the local context.

What started as a recruitment agency — APHCR Sdn Bhd — has grown into a full-service boutique consulting and talent solutions firm. In 2015 we established HCR Consulting Sdn Bhd to formalise our advisory and consulting capability — giving clients access to a broader, deeper range of services under one trusted brand.

Today HCR operates through two dedicated entities serving GLCs, corporates, and SMEs across Malaysia. We have remained deliberately boutique — because we believe that size should never come at the expense of quality, attention, or accountability.

Hasnah Abdul Hamid has led the firm since its earliest days and remains its driving force today.

Hasnah has led HCR since its earliest days and remains its driving force today. With over 25 years in corporate advisory across Malaysia and Singapore — spanning aviation, banking, Big 4 consulting, and a Bumiputera conglomerate — she brings a depth of Malaysian market knowledge that few can match. Known for her ability to build C-suite relationships and deliver outcomes that stick.

Naveen Paul

Naveen brings 21+ years of regional experience across ASEAN and APAC — working with some of the world's largest organisations on talent strategy, workforce planning, and business growth. His First-Class MBA and deep cross-border network make him particularly effective at connecting Malaysian organisations with the right talent and the right partners beyond our borders.

HRDF-certified trainer.

Muhammad Fadhli Abdul Malek

Fadhli has spent 20+ years leading digital transformation and business process reengineering programmes across government, oil and gas, finance, and manufacturing in Malaysia. He holds a PhD in Wireless Systems and has designed enterprise architecture for national-level digital initiatives. When organisations ask how to navigate AI adoption, Industry 4.0, or large-scale digital change — Fadhli is the person in the room.
